Laura Pederzoli in azione all’Ironman delle Hawaii

Laura has finally crossed the finish line of the most important race of the world in Kona Hawaii. Our athlete protagonist of the project #RoadToKona has finished in 11h45’41”. The time splits of the three events are: 1h09’32 swim, 6h04’00” bike and 4h23’12” run. She definitely wanted to do better but, the satisfaction of having the finisher medal around her neck of such an important race, repaid her of all the sacrifices done during the season.

This is what she said after the race: “After having crossed this finish line I am at the end of a year-long trip. Today it has been very hard mentally and physically. I could not do any better than this. I am sorry if I cannot tell you anything else. This ironman was very tough and incredibly hot. There was a thunderstorm during the race, a lot of wind and the various courses were very difficult. I had cramps on the bike and during the marathon I had a lot of physical problems. It never happened to me to walk near the aid stations but here at the Ironman in Kona you have to keep on and you cannot stop. Thank you with all my heart to all of you that have supported me! I will tell you my Ironman experience but only when I will feel ready. Now every muscle of my body is hurting and I am right now a crybaby for the emotion endured during the race. Aloha!”.
