ROAD TO KONA: PEDERZOLI READY FOR IRONMAN HAWAII
Laura Pederzoli is still training very strongly for Ironman Hawaii. She is enduring hard physical training activities that are strengthening her mind. Every time she decides to compete for a race we know that her personal commitment is so strong that she always performs greatly.
Laura performed incredibly at the Italian Middle Distance Championship in Lovere, but was then disqualified for not having respected a doubtful “stop and go” time penalty. But this is something already gone and now she is really focused on the Ironman world final, the Road to Kona project.
“In August I was two weeks in Tenerife. This is a great place where I can train in each of the three events. The Island is perfect because it offers you fantastic and difficult bike rides (you can reach 2,200 meters on top of the volcano Teide), dirty roads for running and comfortable swimming pools (when you cannot swim in the ocean). This is why so many triathletes like to train here. I am deeply satisfied with my training done here. My performance at the Italian middle distance championship confirms that I have done a great job, notwithstanding the fact that I was on a heavy loading training period. It is a pity that I was disqualified at the end of the race but, this is something already gone and, as usual, I prefer to look forward. I am starting now a couple of very hard training weeks, my week-ends will be even worst. I will be racing at mid September at the Ironman 70.3 Pula in Croatia. I will then fly to Hawaii with the intention of doing my best”.
Aloha and of course good luck!
